Andrew Kim - Agape Japan

Hi everyone, hope you are all doing well! Despite fears of a MERS outbreak and warnings from the government about possible earthquakes, our team is ready to go on a mission trip to Tokyo, Japan from June 23rd to July 3rd, 2015!!! I'll be going with a team through my school, Torch Trinity (TTGU). These projects, called Angel Projects, are designed to provide students an opportunity to to visit and serve in local churches where our alumni are serving. This year, we are going to serve three Japanese churches in Yokohama & Tokyo:  New Life Baptist Church, Takao Christ Church, and Tokyo Chuo Seisho Seminary.  

As you all know, Japan has lately suffered several major crises including natural disasters and various social crises. And did you know that less than 1% of the entire population of Japan is Christian?  We feel it’s very important to share the gospel and train Japanese churches to become more effective in witnessing and sharing the Gospel. Our Agape Japan 2015 team, would also like to visit these three churches to serve and mobilize Japanese Christians to become effective evangelists to their own people.

Some of our planned activities include:

- Training, prayer and encouragement for Japanese Christians who struggle with sharing the gospel in an antagonistic society

- Short VBS program for children at a church in Tokyo

- Participate in an International Festival as an outreach opportunity to share the gospel through testimonies, skits and music

- Street Evangelism with local churches to share the gospel with the locals

- Teaching and sharing in a class at Tokyo Chuo Seisho Seminary

- Spreading and sharing the gospel at a local university
