Writing this support letter was not easy. I struggled for weeks to even start it. Every time I would sit down and attempt to write, I couldn’t figure out what to say or where to even begin. I realized that in order to do this I’d have to put my pride aside and just be honest with all of you.
The past few years have been rough. I’ve really struggled with various things and often wrestled with God because of them. Not to say that there haven’t been any highs, but it was a difficult time overall to say the least. I’d be happy to share in person or through PM if you’d like to hear the specifics.
The idea of DTS (Discipleship Training School) with YWAM was first brought to my attention last year. Every time it was mentioned, I would brush it away. I’d think, “No way!” Dropping everything and going away for six months to be trained and do mission work seemed out of the question for me. I am happy to share with you all that God has since changed my heart and gave me peace about going. I need healing. I need to be restored. I’d been reluctant, but now am ready to receive what He has in store for me. Why is it that I only fully surrender to God when I am pushed to the brink??
On January 7th, I will be going to Restorers DTS in Kona, Hawaii. My time there will be divided as follows:
-Three months of lectures and training dealing with the restoration of my heart, mind, emotions, identity, relationships, and purpose.
-Two months of outreach (countries TBD) dealing with restoring dignity to people caught in trafficking, restoring literacy to the illiterate, restoring pure water to diseased filled wells, and restoring homes to the homeless.
-One month of debrief processing everything learned and experienced, and applying it to wherever I am called.

I look forward to this time of experiencing God on a deeper level. I look forward to healing and transformation, as I believe that we ourselves need to be healed and restored first in order to help heal and restore others. I look forward to coming back to Seoul and sharing with all of you what I have learned and experienced, and to serve our community faithfully.
In order to go, I need your help in two ways:

• Logistics (handling of housing situation in Seoul, work, bills, etc.)
Finances: I need to raise a little over $10,000 (USD), which will cover my three months of lectures and training, two months of outreach to different countries, and one month of debrief back in Kona.
